Nantes in France, one of the best destinations for tourists, is on a collision course with tourism, as its population has been declining for years.

According to France’s tourism authority, the number of people visiting the city is down from 890,000 in 2011 to 624,000 last year.

The mayor of the French capital, Anne Hidalgo, recently declared a state of emergency in the city.
